The problem with travel dumps is not the photos, it is the count. Six hundred shots, ten slots. The fix is to stop posting places and start posting a day: what you ate, what you missed, what the room looked like at 7am.
What to put in it
1. The window seat. Wing, cloud, or the first view on landing. Keep it early in the set, but not as the cover unless it is genuinely your best frame.
2. Food you cannot name. Menus, plates, street stalls. Food carries a place better than its skyline does.
3. Where you slept. An unmade bed, a hotel key, a balcony. This is the slide that makes a trip feel like yours.
4. Transport in between. Trains, ferries, a bus window, a map on a phone. Movement shots pace the carousel.
5. One landmark, sideways. Include the famous thing once, shot from behind, in a reflection, or with your friend eating in front of it.
6. Signs and receipts. Street names, tickets, a supermarket price tag. Free souvenirs, and they date the trip.
7. Strangers' details. Hands, laundry lines, a shopfront cat. Never faces without consent; details tell the story anyway.
8. The tired photo. Airport floor, backpack, 6am eyes. Honest way to end a trip dump.
Cutting 600 photos down to twelve
Split by city or by two or three days. A two-week trip crammed into twenty slides blurs into nothing, while three posts of ten keep every place distinct.
Sort by type before you sort by date: one bed, one plate, one street, one face, one detail. Whatever is left over after that is probably a duplicate.
Post while you are still away, or within a few days of getting back. A trip dump three weeks later has to compete with whatever you are doing now.
